I’ll put you on Hold
Everything seems to be put on hold while the weather is this good, housework and blogging (both reading them and writing here) have taken the worst of it in my life. My brain just doesn’t seem to want to do either of those things when I could be out and about doing stuff after work.
If any of you are trying to think of something to do in the evenings to avail of this weather, then I definitely recommend a picnic. We don’t have an garden so eating al fresco involves being squashed onto the balcony eating off our laps - not too good. So last evening I packed up the dinner into containers (as you will see from the Meal Plan we were having Jen’s Chickpea and Roasted Red Pepper salad and Fish, although I substituted the fish for some smoked chicken that I got from Sadliers on Roche’s street). I also took some lettuce, tomato and spring onion as well as some brown bread. I packed two plates, a roll of kitchen paper and some cutlery and we headed off to the Clare Glens (it’s near Newport and Murroe).  We popped into a shop on the way to get some drinks (we had the car so it was Coke and Fanta Lemon I’m afraid).
It was the perfect way to spend the evening so I’d encourage all of you to pack your dinner up this evening and head off for a picnic somewhere beautiful. If the Clare Glens is out of your way, Curragh Chase is also perfect for picnics. And for those of you not in Limerick I’m sure a quick flick around the internet will throw up some suggestions.
Oh and I also packed some rubbish bags, sometimes the bins can be full in these places so it’s handy to have a bag with you. The bags are also handy for packing the unwashed plates and cutlery etc.

Love Clare Glens! Had a picnic in Doneraile on the May Bank Hol weekend, we even brought the bikes for afterwards, lovely way to spend an afternoon, and a great way to work off the picnic treats!
