Spring/Summer 2007 Office Wear
I know, I know the sales have hardly even started but I’ll be honest, sales always make me think of the new season that is approaching. There is something very refreshing about shedding those heavy winter layers and packing away those scarves and gloves. I’m so tired of the black pants and v-neck jumpers that have turned into a uniform over the winter months.
If you remember a while back I did a post on style advice as given by Celia Larkin, and one of her main tips was that you should concentrate most on the clothes that you wear the most and for most of us that happens to be work. Now, I’m not suggesting you should spend all your wages on clothes for work but for eight hours a day five days a week you will probably be drawing from your work wardrobe so it’s a good idea to spend a bit of time planning it out.
I’ve picked out some of my favourite designer outfits that might inspire you when you are planning your Spring/Summer work wardrobe, obviously it will depend highly on the dress code in your place of work and some of you will have a uniform and if so…look away now!!

This are all from Peter Jensen’s SS07 collection, the muted colours would look great in any office environment and the items featured above seem pretty ‘mix and match’ and I love the shoes in the last two pictures.
There is something really stylish about wearing a black knee-length dress to work maybe with a cardigan or bolero over it….very Audrey Hepburn!

Here are some up-to-date versions.

This is from the Preen SS07 collection. (Personally I think this dress is a little short but I love the idea of the crisp white shirt inside it.

This is from the Prada SS07 collection.

This is by Oscar de la Renta.
And finally if you have a casual Friday, or if like me you have the casual option every day, this is a great look from Paul Smith Woman.

Of course I would recommend wearing something inside the jacket!!
Anyway, I hope these pictures will inspire you when planning your spring/summer wardrobe. The photos above all came from Style.com, and the Audrey Hepburn photo from this website.

Against your advice I went and had a look.(I wear a uniform for work along with body armour and about 20 lbs of other ‘gear’ *sigh*)
Oh well..that’s likely to change this summer and maybe then I can wear real clothes to work. Thanks for the tips and Happy New Year!
